Central Police University and Special Olympics Chinese Taipei held "2012 Special Olympics CPU Basketball Summer Camp" from August 3rd to 5th, 2012. This event helps people with intellectual disabilities gain many emotional and psychological benefits, including self-confidence, social competence, building greater athletic skills and higher self esteem. Eighty athletes and their family, forty volunteers of CPU, and 20 staffs of Special Olympics joined the event. Through the activity, the disabled have a spectacular and joyful summer.

Wei-Chuan Chien, Deputy Minister of Sport Affair Council, was invited to encourage the athletes. Te-Sen Chuang, the Vice President, represented CPU to welcome the athletes and their families. After opening ceremony, two-female team led by Chien competed with two-male team led by Chuang . This competition was followed by a burst of applause.

Central Police University and Special Olympics Chinese Taipei have been co-organizing judo or basketball summer camp since 2009. CPU faculties volunteer and sponsor Special Olympics Chinese Taipei. They also take care of the people with intellectual disabilities and their family. In the speech of Shiou-Shiung Bai, the president of Special Olympics Chinese Taipei, he especially gave his gratitude toward Wei-Jiuan Chien, Deputy Minister of Sport Affairs Council, Shiou-Neng Hsieh, president of CPU, De-Sen Juang, vice-president of CPU, as well as all volunteers. He appealed everyone should care about the education right of people with intellectual disabilities and their developments.

According to Special Olympics Chinese Taipei, Special Olympics holds International Special Olympics Winter Games and International Special Olympics Summer Games every 4 years. It also offers the intellectual disabilities many training and competition opportunities all around the world, so every athletic is able to show their sportsmanship.

In these years, in addition to holding summer camps with Special Olympics Chinese Taipei, Central Police University has been devoted to "Special Olympics law-enforcement official torch relay" activity with National Police Agency, Ministry of the Interior, and its sub-unit, taking actions to support and concern about the disadvantage, and also welcoming all to participate the grand event.
